Subject: Two Canadian climbs
Hi all.
Just a brief email of our trip so far. On Sunday we got out and did our first trip. We tried to climb Mount Temple. Normally a scramble, but there was some soft, deep snow so we stopped a little short of the summit. A beautiful day though, with great views across the heart of the Rockies.
Tuesday we climbed Ha Ling Peak, just above Canmore, via a 12-pitch 450 metre 5.6 rock-climb. Spectacular!
We bummed around at our campsite near Canmore yesterday. Patrick slept most of the day!!! :)
Tomorrow we're trying an awesome-looking rock-climb called the Kaine Route, on Mount Louis. Should be fun!
After that, who knows. We're taking it a day at a time really. We'd maybe like to do an easy glacier climb, or some more rock climb until the season progresses a bit (June is still pretty early for summer mountaineering here.) Weather has been very favourable, however.
Hope the skiing's good back home... :)
love Matthew.
